Rochelle's Quick Tips

  • Moms should educate themselves on food content.
  • Always find the freshest foods available. Visit a local farm so your children can understand how healthy food is grown and raised.
  • When it comes to cooking, mix it up and spice it up, changing from lean meat one day to vegetarian meals the next. And be creative with spices and fresh fruits.
  • When kids want to eat junk, have an alternative on hand. When kids ask for candy, give them maple syrup on oatmeal. When they want ice cream, give them strawberry yogurt.
  • Encourage kids to  exercise regularly  by taking them to the local community center (like the YMCA), and by walking every place you can. Send your kids on an errand or have them walk to the store if it’s safe.
