The Alliance’s partnership with Rachael Ray and Yum-o! coincided with the launch of Yum-o!—Rachael’s charity that empowers kids and their families to develop healthy relationships with food and cooking. For more information visit www.yum-o.org.
On May 7, 2009, President Clinton and Alliance Champion Rachael Ray celebrated Mother’s Day and the moms across America who make sure their kids eat right and move more. The pair invited two special guest moms, Tonya Mitchell Peele of North Carolina and Mindee Myers of Nebraska to talk about how they worked with the Alliance’s Healthy Schools Program to make simple changes in their children’s schools — changes that have had big impacts on their entire communities.
On September 16th the Rachael Ray Show aired a message from former President Bill Clinton to announce Go Healthy Month and to encourage kids and families to pledge to Go Healthy. "We want families to recommit to eating better and getting more exercise," said President Clinton. "With nearly 25 million children overweight or obese in our country the challenge is one important step your child can take on the path to a healthier lifestyle. It's fun, easy and free, and kids and parents can do it together." View the President's message.
