After-school programs, community centers, faith-based organizations, parks and recreation facilities, and dozens of other organizations play an essential role in encouraging youth to live healthier lives. Whether providing kids a place to play or facilitating a workshop on healthy eating, community champions across the country are collaborating with the Alliance to empower kids to make healthy behavior changes and to become advocates and leaders for healthy eating and physical activity.
The Alliance is launching the New Year with a few new features online, including a guest blog where friends, allies and champions of the Alliance share their thoughts on topics of interest to the Alliance audience of parents and professionals working to combat childhood obesity.
Our first guest blogger is Laura Posada, an attorney, personal trainer, actress and author of Fit Home Team, a guide to raising a healthy and fit family. Laura took time from her work running the day-to-day operations of her partner, and New York Yankee’s catcher, Jorge Posada Foundation to share their family’s resolutions for a healthy new year.
