Empowering Youth and Building Healthier Out-of-School Time Environments

Afterschool programs, faith-based organizations, community centers and recreation facilities can all empower kids to make healthier behavior changes by promoting healthy eating and physical activity.

More than 2.5 million youth  and 800 organizations have joined our effort to inspire youth to live healthier lives. Building on that success, the Alliance has launched an exciting new effort working to create healthier out- of-school time environments. Starting with five pilot communities, the Alliance is working with local organizations to create healthier out-of-school time settings for youth across the country.

We also continue to support anyone interested in inspiring kids to live healthier lives through the empowerME4Life curriculum or holding a Youth-Hosted Forum in their community. Check out our toolkits and webinars, supporting youth leaders and adult allies in implementing these programs.
