High Bridge Elementary School: Students and Staff Make Moves for Health

Both teachers and students at High Bridge Elementary School are jumping in and getting involved in their school’s wellness efforts. Students are learning more about where their food comes from through the school’s garden and experimenting with new fresh fruits and vegetables through cafeteria taste tests.

High Bridge has increased the amount of physical activity students receive and provided opportunities for afterschool and community fitness events. And instead of sweet treats, students can earn extra physical activity opportunities as a reward for good behavior. Teachers are making positive changes, too. High Bridge staff participated in a school-wide health survey and worked up a sweat during Zumba classes.
