Your Inspiration for Being Healthy:
I want to be a healthy role model for my family.

What motivated you to apply to be an ambassador?
I wanted to learn more about how to create a healthier environment in school.

Why do you feel it is important for schools to be a part of the fight against childhood obesity?
Kids spend so much time at school; we can be such an influence on their lifestyle.

What’s your proudest accomplishment in creating a healthier generation?
My children’s school is slowly creating a healthier environment one change at a time.

If you could make one healthy change in your school or community, what would it be?
We should move from food as reward to only activity-based rewards.

What is a word of advice for others who would like to make a healthy change in his or her community?
It’s important to find advocates in your community to partner with. It’s uphill if you try to do it on your own.
