Helping Kids Move More in School: Nike
Collaboration is fundamental to the Alliance’s success, from our inception through today. Founded through a unique partnership between the American Heart Association and the Clinton Foundation, the Alliance’s work impacts 20 million youth today and the power of partnerships – with organizations, individuals and corporations – remains a fundamental part of our approach.
As part of the America’s Healthiest Schools campaign, the Alliance is proud to also recognize a Corporate Hero Awardee, Nike. We honor the company’s commitment to help kids develop active habits early and for life by supporting sports and physical activity in schools. Through Let’s Move! Active Schools, a partner program to the Alliance’s Healthy Schools Program, Nike has helped more than 10 million children have increased opportunity for physical activity and physical education.
The Healthier Generation Corporate Hero Award recognizes the enormous role that companies like Nike can play in improving the health of our nation’s children by demonstrating:
- Extraordinary effort to be part of the solution to the physical inactivity epidemic;
- Industry leadership in promoting evidenced-based public health solutions;
- Innovation in creating and fostering positive change on behalf of children’s health.
Congratulations, Nike, on receiving this tremendous honor!
