About the Leaders Summit

The 2014 Leaders Summit will bring together and celebrate schools, communities, companies and individuals making positive change for children’s health nationwide.

Our Leaders Summit was previously known as our Healthy Schools Program Forum where we celebrated schools that have met our rigorous benchmarks for healthy eating and physical activity for their students and staff. This year, for the first time, we are continuing to recognize schools as well as expand the celebration to include leading community organizations, companies and individuals making the same strides for childhood health.

The two-day event will bring together 250 schools from around the country, companies working to increase access for nutrition and physical activity and community organizations and individuals doing outstanding work to transform environments into healthier places for kids.

There will be awards, there will be speakers, and there will be lively discussions.

Summit festivities will commence on Friday, September 12 with our welcome reception and keynote speaker. Events will continue through Saturday with a panel discussion moderated by the Today Show's Joy Bauer, an awards ceremony recognizing our honorees emceed by veteran sportscaster Bonnie Bernstein, and inspirational speeches on creating a healthier generation for our children.
