Moms Say Kids Don't Get Recommended Amounts of Activity
If the last activity you did with your child was sedentary, you’re not alone. According to a new survey we conducted with Woman’s Day, families are not getting enough physical activity. You can find the results illustrated below.
“The survey results underline the increasingly sedentary lifestyle many of our kids are leading. The good news is, there is opportunity to change this trend—and families can make small changes that make a big difference.”
- Dr. Howell Wechsler, CEO of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation
To spread the word about the lack of physical activity across the country and inspire families to get moving, we've launched #Commit2Ten, a social media campaign challenging the nation to add 10 more minutes of physical activity to its daily routine during the month of September. Learn about the findings from our survey below, and #Commit2Ten to join the nation in getting more active.
Only 1 in 3 children is physically active each day. To spread the word about the lack of physical activity in schools—and across the country—the Alliance for a Healthier Generation is launching #Commit2Ten, a campaign challenging the nation to add 10 more minutes of physical activity a day.
Through #Commit2Ten, we invite individuals, families, schools, afterschool programs, companies, and communities to prove that a little more physical activity makes a big difference.
