After you've updated your wellness policy, it's time to take action at the school level. This includes reviewing and evaluating your policy regularly to keep track of the goals you have successfully implemented and those that can still be improved. Follow the steps below to properly implement your school wellness policy.
4 Steps to Put Policy Into Practice
Step 1: Create a Healthier Generation Account and join your school
If you haven’t already, create your own Healthier Generation account. Once you have an account, you can join your school and assess your school's practices and policies.
Step 2: Develop an Action Plan to Monitor Progress
An Action Plan can help you engage your school wellness committee and monitor your progress to ensure you're on target to meet your wellness policy goals.
Step 3: Communicate and Build Support
Your wellness policy provides the guidance staff and families need to support a healthy school environment. Use the Communication Checklist to help promote, educate, and build support with school staff, families, and the community for your wellness goals.
Step 4: Connect to Resources and Support
