We have collaborated with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and our industry signatories to develop a series of webinars to inform primary care providers and registered dietitians about the Healthier Generation Benefit (formerly, the Alliance Healthcare Initiative).
These webinars are available free to PCPs and RDs and offer 1 hour of AAP CME credit (where available) and 1 hour of Academy CPE credit (CPE credit pending).
Minimum Performance Level for Physicians
Per the 2010 revision of the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) and credit system, a minimum performance level must be established on enduring material and journal-based CME activities that are certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. In order to successfully complete these enduring materials for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 80% or higher on the post-activity assessment, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity.
Your answers to the post-test will be reviewed and participants with a passing score will receive a certificate via email to claim CME credit (where available) through the AAP via pedialink.aap.org or CPE credit through the Academy.
- A passing score for registered dietitians to receive CPE credit is 5 correct out of 7 total questions.
- A passing score for primary care providers to receive CME credit is 4 correct out of 5 total questions.
Participants who did not receive a passing score may retake the webinar again to receive credit.
Findings and Future Directions: How the Healthier Generation Benefit is Shifting the Landscape of Obesity Care
The American Academy of Pediatrics is a partner in the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthier Generation Benefit which is designed to provide access for overweight children to follow-up care with a primary care provider and registered dietitian as part of their health insurance. The webinar highlighted the key points of the Benefit, current data collected related to parent perceptions and utilization, the forthcoming AAP Institute for Healthy Childhood Weight quality improvement project (COPI – Childhood Obesity Performance Improvement), and resources that can support you in your obesity care.
