Health Curriculum

Your health curriculum should teach students the functional knowledge they need to live healthier as well as shape their interests in health so that they will use that knowledge to live healthier. With clear goals for behavior outcomes and researched-based strategies, your health curriculum will give students skills to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Assess Your Curriculum

How is your curriculum developed, delivered, and evaluated? Make sure your health curriculum is designed to help students adopt and maintain healthy behaviors that protect and promote health and avoid or reduce health risks.

Develop Your Curriculum

Use your health education standards and performance indicators as a framework. This will determine your curriculum’s scope and sequence and identify student objectives.

Implement Your Curriculum

Determine who is teaching the health curriculum, the instructional time it is allocated, and if the lessons, classroom resources and student assessments are aligned to the student objectives/outcomes outlined in the curriculum.
