Every child deserves a healthy future. For the 10.2 million children who attend out-of-school time programs, time outside the home is a critical avenue to develop healthy habits, as well as social and emotional skills for themselves and their families.
Healthier Generation’s Healthy-Out-of-School Time Initiative supports these programs’ leaders in creating stimulating, healthy environments that help kids eat better and move more in ways that support their social, emotional, and academic development. Guided by the latest research and lessons learned from local implementation, Healthier Generation guides staff, children, and families to work together to create lasting change. We collaborate with national organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and National Recreation and Park Association to deliver our work.
In 2017, Healthier Generation was recognized as one of the “Most Influential in Health and Wellness” by the National AfterSchool Association.
More than 3,500 out-of-school time providers are already making healthy changes with Healthier Generation. Is your site or program next? Get started today to create a healthier out-of-school time site or program.
