National Advisor, Whole Child Health – Trauma-Informed Approaches

Christina Rodriguez is a National Advisor on the Whole Child Health team, specializing in trauma-informed approaches. In this role, she develops resources and professional learning opportunities to support increased knowledge and the practical application of trauma-informed approaches at both the school and district level.

Prior to joining Healthier Generation, Christina delivered trauma-informed care training and coaching to early childhood education professionals and co-designed mental health training courses for non-profit leaders.

Christina has a background working in the mental health field as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. She has worked in community mental health clinics and domestic violence shelters, where she supported children and families in navigating mental health challenges and building resilience after adverse experiences. She has specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, crisis-intervention, domestic violence, and motivational interviewing. Christina is also a certified yoga instructor and enjoys incorporating yoga and mindfulness practices into her work. Christina holds a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and a bachelor’s degree in studio arts from Loyola Marymount University.

Christina lives in Los Angeles with her husband. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, baking, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family.
