Alliance for a Healthier Generation Marks Two Decades of Advancing Children’s Health

Milestone Report Showcases 20 Years of Progress Promoting Healthy Learning Environments

Alliance for a Healthier Generation today released its 2025 impact report, reflecting on two decades of fostering healthier schools. Since its founding in 2005, the organization has worked at the intersection of health and education, advancing evidence-based policies and practices to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students, staff, and families.

Co-founded by the American Heart Association and the Clinton Foundation, Healthier Generation has become a national leader in whole child health, supporting nutrition, physical activity, school health services, staff well-being, and family engagement. Healthier Generation has partnered with more than 58,000 school communities across all 50 states—reaching over 31 million young people and the caring adults who support them.

“As we take stock of our progress, we’re also looking ahead with renewed commitment and vigor,” says Kathy Higgins, CEO of Healthier Generation. “Our mission remains clear: to support schools in creating environments where health and learning go hand in hand.”
