Teachers to take part in week-long competition to support childhood health; Warriors Harrison Barnes and Festus Ezeli to attend launch event

(OAKLAND, CALIF.) Teachers at Sheridan Elementary School will compete for one week to be the healthiest role model for their students to support childhood health as part of an UP for a Healthier Generation, powered by Jawbone, event. Warriors forward Harrison Barnes and center Festus Ezeli will attend the tip-off event on Tuesday, May 20 to officially launch the program with a school-wide assembly from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Each teacher will be given an UP band, wearable technology from Jawbone, to track their steps, calories burned and sleep, with each teacher monitoring and logging their progress once each day during a one week period. The winning teacher will be announced at another school-wide assembly on Tuesday, May 27 and will have the opportunity to take their entire class to a Warriors home game during the 2014-15 season.
