About the Recipe

This is a recipe that I like to make in the winter time for my kids when they are here during the holidays. Because of the weather, I enjoy making my family different kinds of soups with different ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 2 pigs’ feet
  • ½ spicy sausage link
  • 1 bell pepper
  • ½ onion
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • ½ teaspoon of cumin
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 can garbanzo beans

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add pig feet to the pot and return  to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and cook the feet until they are tender,  for about two hours.
  3. Add garbanzo beans to the pot.
  4. Heat a skillet on medium to high heat and sear the sausage, onion, and bell pepper for three to four minutes to ensure sausage is fully cooked. Then add to the pot. Cook mixture until the ingredients have softened to your preference.
  5. Add tomato sauce to the pot.
  6. Add the cumin, then add salt to taste.
