Gita Rampersad, JD, MHA
Gita is a passionate population health professional with a successful history of developing and implementing cross-sector partnerships and strategies to advance health and racial equity. As Chief Health Equity Officer at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Gita is helping to shape the field of equitable whole child health in US school communities.
As the Vice President of Health Equity and Innovation at Feeding America, Gita managed national healthcare partnerships and designed innovative approaches that illuminated the intersection of hunger, health, and equity, which provided meaningful impact to people facing hunger.
A native of Chicago and expert in place-based initiatives, partnerships, and engagement, Gita has been a thought leader for organizations involved in the development of cross-cutting efforts to improve health and wellbeing, promote health equity, and catalyze systems change. Gita is a member of Aspen Institute’s Food Is Medicine Advisory Board and a past member of the National Academies of Science and Medicine’s Food Forum. She holds a JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with a Certificate in Health Law, and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Illinois School of Public Health.
In her free time, Gita enjoys outdoor wellness walks, visiting art museums, beach travel, and being a companion to elders in her community.
