Healthy Out-of-School Time Roadmaps

Use our downloadable roadmaps to explore the implementation of standards to create a healthier out-of-school time environment for kids.

All roadmaps are aligned to the recently-refreshed National AfterSchool Association Standards for Healthy Eating and Physical Activity and include tips to take action, trainings for staff, and resources to explore. In collaboration with CASEL, each roadmap also includes guidance on integrating social-emotional health into a healthier out-of-school time for kids.

 
Content & Quality Roadmap 

Use this roadmap to ensure foods, beverages and physical activities offered as part of your program promote lifelong health and reduce the risk of chronic disease; ensure physical activity offerings support the USDHHS 2018 guidelines recommending youth obtain at least 60 minutes of physical activity per day, including a mixture of moderate and vigorous intensity activity, as well as bone and muscle strengthening activities.
