Make Wellness a Priority

The role of the employee wellness team is to promote policies and practices that support school staff in developing and maintaining healthy habits. By engaging employees in health-promoting activities throughout the day, you can create a culture of health that results in healthier, happier, and more engaged staff.

3 Steps to Prioritize Employee Wellness

Step 1: Create Opportunities to Move More

Fitness challenges, exercise classes, and regular team activities help staff improve their individual fitness while building team unity. Offer a variety of activities, from activity breaks during staff meetings to on-going opportunities such as a lunchtime or afterschool walking club

Step 2: Encourage Healthy Eating

We all know it's important to eat healthy, but with busy workdays and competing priorities, it's often easier said than done. You can help employees make healthier eating choices by making healthy food options easily available on campus and promoting healthy eating throughout the school day

Step 3: Help Employees Stress Less

Stress management is a key component of staff wellness. Physical activity, proper nutrition, and sleep each play a vital role in managing stress.

Help your staff de-stress with a campus-wide stress management wellness challenge or create a calm space on campus for staff to take a time-out during a hectic day.
